in the install folder is also htaccess file with php_flag display_errors 0, delete that and you will/should be able to install.
I eventually got the script installed, but avatars and uploaded pics don't show, and clicking on download a image one get 500 again. also, clicking on downloads and gallery, one get redirect mobileads.ru, back to johncms site. Still trying to figure out why.

I've been using it since it came out on 17th of Jan.
But my mod_rewrite doesn't seem to work. I dont see a change in the links?
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Change permissions on the folders gallery and downloads to 755, i hope this may work
