Xhtml Database Updating

am really having bother with xhtml sp . all the tools that update or add sumat dont do anything. just added new forum on my test site and it has come up with error and added a forum called $(display) lol . which is in the code.

gotta be a simple fix to this. also cant update or add new quotes .
