coloured links

is it possible to use bbcode to make coloured links when adding new chatrooms and forums to a lava style coded site. or how would i make it possible if cant do it woth bbcode, i have tried using bbcode on adding chatroom but it just shows the the bbcode text also .

and also i would like to make links able to turn them on or off via tools.

for example.

inbox
buds
online users
chatrooms
pics

and maybe have a plus sign like this
inbox +
buds +
online users +
chatrooms +
pics +

so if i clicked on + the list shows like this
inbox +
online users +
chatrooms +
pics+

so users can make the size of there main page smaller or wotever.
