Its not good practice to use java because most mobile browsers don't support it except ofcourse you are targeting new age mobile phone users like iphone or android etc or maybe opera users. Average mobile phone users might have a problem accessing javascript content. Nuff said!

haven't had problems with most nokias and blackberry accessing sites using javascripts even 8yr old wen.ru sites used javascript in them.. Also more phones come with operamini so its not problem... Yoblooc just google search will get some good scripts that displays browser time instead of site time and browser info's
