    Thats done w/ CSS 3, you can read more here CSS3 Gradient background

    Supported in all major web browsers, except IE (6-, For IE(except version 9) you need to use CSS3 PIE: CSS3 decorations for IE

    You also need to put a HTML 5 doctype while using CSS 3 for cross browser compatibility(not that much imp), But MS IE(6- doesn't know what's HTML 5, so you need to use html5shiv - HTML5 IE enabling script - Google Project Hosting

    i have a question ....

    how do i make 2 shades of a colour on a div tag example red starts bright but by the bottom ends up light red , i know alot of people use images that are made that way but i want to learn the css way
