I downloading this version ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso
Is that ok for windows?
Whenever I download Ubuntu for windows, it makes a window that downloads a big file.
But I can't resume that so I do download this big file rather then the smaller one

Go to Bios settings and set 1st boot device to Removeable Disk and restart.

1. if you plugin USB in front, then first enable USB legacy in BIOS
2. you dont need to set first boot device, most board got boot up menu, enter it and choose USB stick
3. to do that, you need proper made USB ofcourse

use this Universal USB installer to install ubuntu or other distro to USB

I will recommend Ubuntu for you,its free and also good....But maybe U can try installing vmware first...
