1, call me means if you have any additional question, Query then you can talk in your own language and that is best.
2. if you call then never possible to give you $2 Plan in $1 if hosting company is working honestly and faithfully. Plan should not be change in any condition either you call or paid extra amount.
3. yes , some hosting provider are providing free trail for some day and so you can check the uptime, server speed, support, etc
