    have good internet? turn your pc in to server

    dunno if its been posted before but why pay for a server when you can just turn your pc in to server uses mysql phpmyadmin ect really easy to use if anyone needs any help just ask

    for basics server from home pc, i'd rather recomend XAMPP
    for one step above that... maybe separately installation Apache, MySQL, PHP, PHPMyAdmin, Filezilla(server)...
    for a bit more PRO, and if PC is powerfull enough.. CentOS.v6 on virtual machine ;)
    as for domain name.. DynDns.com.. works perfect even on dynamic IP adresses...

          i read somewhere that google wont index sites when they are hosted on home servers. They require hosting in data centers.

              i use easyPHP. its quite greate. Through its panel you can create virtual hosts, anywhere on pc. And you can even set domains on them when working offline. Nice when making scripts to work with URLs, . . . . . . .

                  wamp is nice. switch apache, php, mysql on the fly which xamp doesnt have. it also means, you have to upgrade from whole software if there is new version of php/apache/mysql
                  wamp can edit config right on the panel rather than opening it right on the file directory.
                  i've only tried this 2 windows server
