wapmaster2 i register at freehostia.com and they send me an emial with cp login and pwd and they sau to change th DNS on my domain to dns1.freehostia.com dns2.freehostia.com and i change it wat i have to do now ?

Hi wel come to coding-talk and firstly you need a site which you already got thats fine ok now you got an email which they sent you information about your site forget about dns1.freehostia.com or dns2.freehostia.com if you dont have own domain such as coding-talk.com so you can use there sub domain like you might get eg : berty14.freehostia.com is right ?

ok firstly go to cp login link enter your username and password and login you might get a file manager option go there and browse www folder in your sub domain root folder

upload your all files in it such .php or .html what ever and make changes as you need connect to data base


on your cpanel there should be a option mysql / phpMyAdmin

make your database there and upload sql table there

if you need more help just post here we will try to help you

Yes Quebert welcome to coding-talk.

ok what You Must do is search the forum for a Good chat script they are many here. let me take You through the stages:

(1) when You have the script saved to your PC login to Your account at freehostia.

(2) When You are logged in click on file manager.

(3) Now inside file manager click on your domain name (site link) e.g Yoursite.freehostia.com

(4) Now after you click on your link you will be taken to the area where you upload your script. Now upload the script by clicking on the browse button at the botton this will take you into your pc locate the script an then click upload.

(5) ok so Now You have Your script uploaded to your host its time to unpacked it.

(6) to unpacked your scrip click on the little icon that looks like a pencil. this will popup a small window at the bottom of this window you will see it says Unpack archive click it.

(7) Now that Your scripts are unpacked its time to locate the SQL file check for a file from the scripts that were unpacked that says SQL.

( ok so You have located the sql file Now click the pencil icon next to the file to open the edit window click where it says (Open with plain text editor).

(9) Now right click on your mouse an select all now copy.

(10) the next step is to open a Notepad on your computer an paste all the sql that you just copied to the notepad. Now minimize it because you will need to access it later.

(11) next step is to create your database. Now at the top of your freehostia account you should see it says SITE MANAGEMENT click there an you should see MYSQL Databases click on that.

(12) Now create Your database user an Password. Please remember what You create because You will need to have these info in the coming steps.

(13) Now after You created Your database user an Password look for where its says Database Server: mysql3.freehostia.com write down the server address which is mysql3.freehostia.com

(14) Next step is to login to PhpMyAdmin you can do this by clicking on where it says PhpMyAmin just below your database username.

(15) Now when you are inside your PhpMyAdmin window You will see some small icons on the left Just below the PhpMyAdmin Logo click on the white icon that says SQL.

(16) After You click the white SQL icon this will popup a small window where you will Now run your sql query.

(17) Now Go to the notepad that You paste the sql file earlier right click an select all now copy an paste it to the window that Just popup in the PhpMyAdmin window an click Go.

(1 Now if everything Goes well You should have a successful message an see tables appear

(19) ok Now the last steps is to Go all the way back to where You unpacked Your files an look for a file called CONFIG.PHP after You find the file click the small pencil to edit an remember to click (Open with plain text editor) there you will see it says in the file Database user Database Password & database host.

(20) Now finally fill in the username & password that You created earlier an fill in the mysql server host an click apply changes an there You Go Your site should be up an running.
