Using Adruino to build detection system

Hi, sorry for late reply, ive been busy with other things. You could use the pir sensor for arduino, it detects moving objects, or some ir light emitter and receiver module, it will detect movement when someone interrupts the ir light, also you can use an ultrasonic distance measurement sensor but its range is up to 3 meters.

Hey Gumslone,

I know you've been doing this for a while now.
I am interested in using Adruino to build a detection system. So basically, the system should have 2 sensors and it should turn on a light when any object comes within certain feet of either sensor. Any suggestions on boards/sensors ? I am new to Adruino, any tips would be helpful.
