How popular is WML?

Even HTML was overcome by XHTML. HTML 4.01 is the last version of HTML from the 1999th. W3C recommendation from 26. January 2000, revised 1 August 2002 is XHTML.

For wap site should be used exclusively XHTML.

Recommendation is XHTML MP or XHTML Basic DTD.

im think.. WML still popular right now. Because it easy to handle. And easy to load doest take a long time to load.. I Love WML..XHTML Also.. Hehe.. Both of them more great if there combine.. I Guest.

Hi all.

Some of you may remember me from quite a few years ago (I'm sure that Gumslone and Subzero will). My site was ***************.

Anyway, the truth is that I spent so much of my time coding scripts and helping to build sites for other people that my marrage nearly broke down.
I made the decision to close my site and to delete all of the scripts I had wrote.

That all happened about 5 years ago now. The other day I came across a couple of scripts which I had made. Theses are WML scripts. XHTML was quite a new thing for mobiles back then.

Anyway I was just wondering, is WML still more popular than XHTML?

IMO... no...
Valid(by W3C) XHTML will work on most todays phones,
therefor is more interesting as it offers a whole lot
more options than WML...
with all this coloured screens on phones...
WML has kind a lost its popularity i guess...
more and more powerfull phones are coming..
as it looks, soon we will have also phones
with full Flash and JS support
