redirect It to search page along with Query StringOriginally Posted by pmbguy [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
just noticed yesterday i got a few 404 errors from bots on one of my sites... Since i know the sites shouldnt give such errors i know most likely it was following links from someone elses site or something out of my control... But this got me wondering... Cause i coded my 404 error page to log ip browser, etc n email me when errors occur... Now im wondering can i use my 404 page as an SEO tool?
Cause i can read browser name etc... Then if its googlebot or another search bot it can return forums guest mode or something nice for bot to crawl else return error page...
Just not sure if this might result in site getting blocked or not, but it was an idea...
